Includes one foldout map and eight engravings in the text. The author, Marc Theodore Bourrit (1739-1819) was from Geneva but from a family of French origin. British Museum and the '1831 duplicate for sale' rubber stamps on the title page verso. The shelf numbers on the title page upper right corner Gal.5Re. have been identified as possibly the old British Museum press mark from when the Library was stored at Montague House.Hinges cracked but holding. Some cracks in the leather on the spine. Corner of p113 torn touching two letters. Small paper repair on the title page verso. Otherwise internally clean. Uncommon. Very Good. Item #7461
