The author, Johann Jacob Rambach (1683-1735) was a Professor of Theology at Giessen and a prolific writer of hymns. See Joecher III col 1885-1889. Some general rubbing along the boards. Paper on the lower front edge torn and one small chip at the top of the spine. Lengthy contemporary inscription on the inside front blank. Very Good. Item #7314
