A Pocket Dictionary of the English Armenian and Turkish Languages
Venice: Printed at the Press of The Armenian College of S. Lazarus, 1843. Hardcover. 444p; 386p; 237p, [2]. Old library buckram with bookplates on the inside front board. Includes a short introduction in English suggesting that this pocket dictionary may be useful to travelers. According to Birrell & Garnett p9-10, the Armenian Press was established at the monastery in 1716 and later enlarged in 1725. Title page in volume III repaired with clear tape. Old signature of Benjamin Smith Lyman in volume III. Despite the unfortunate library binding, the volumes are clean inside. A very uncommon edition. Very Good. Item #7099
