Rome: Corbelleti, 1638. Hardcover. [12], 27-678p, [34]. 19th century quarter calf over speckled boards. Title page and frontispiece mounted. Lacks the first 26 pages of text. Extra illustrated with inserted illustrations of coat of arms, including the von Hallwil family. A gilt arms on vellum of a Cardinal has been attached to the inside front and rear boards. There are additional lacquer seals arms mounted on the inside front blank and one hand painted. Occasional tipped in drawings of arms or ornamental designs. Marginal staining along the index. Old repair the preliminary leaves. Spine worn and partially loose though the boards are attached. An important working copy at one time. Ownership signature of Eduard Lutz 1866. A very scarce work.
