Bibliographia Antiqvaria
Hamburgi et Lipsiae: Christiani Liebezeit, 1716. Hardcover. Frontispiece, [14], 664p, [64] Contemporary quarter vellum over paper covered boards. First published in 1713. This work is a survey of the work on Greek, Roman, Christian and Jewish antiquities which in many respects makes it the first separate bibliography on archeology. A third edition appeared in 1760. Fabricius, who suffered from 'writers rash', was an exceptional bibliographer and book collector. He had, according to Verner, over 20,000 books in his library occupying five rooms in his house. The Library was sold at auction after his death and no catalog exists. See Verner p282-326. Some wear to the boards, but otherwise internally a clean copy. Very Good. Item #6903
