Lefèvre, 1826. Hardcover. Engraved frontispiece, 498p. Contemporary straight grained purple morocco with elaborated designs in blind on the boards and spine covered with gilt ruled edges. Gilt fore-edge and green end papers. SIGNED BINDING BY RENE SIMIER (1772-1843). Signed Simier du Roi at the foot of the spine and stamped and with a small stamp on the inside front wrapper. The work was probably done by his son Alphonse, who lead the workshop from 1823-1848. Also includes an oval booksellers label of "Galerie de Bossange Pere. Rue de Richelieu No 60". on the inside front blank which is the famed international bookseller and publisher Martin Bossange (1765-1865). From the Library of Chateau de Wideville with bookplate on the inside front board. A few very minor rubbing marks at the edges and occasional spots in the text, otherwise a fresh clean copy in a very attractive binding. Very Good. Item #6768
