Second edition. "Samuel Worcester and other missionaries to the Cherokee nation were convicted of violating a Georgia Act which made it unlawful for whites to live in Indian country with taking an oath of allegiance to the State of Georgia and obtaining a license to live there. Cohen #13677 Light rubbing to the boards and wear to spine ends. Moderate toning to interior, faint damp stain in upper right corner of the text block effecting text, but not legibility. Light scattered foxing. Clean tears to edges of a few leaves not affecting text. Early inscription Roger M. [Sherman] From Hon. G. Tomlins at the upper right corner on the title page. Second edition.
