Walter Damrosch [signed letter]

A typed and signed letter from Walter Damrosch dated April 12, 1929.

New York: 1929. The letter is a reply to one of the "children" of his radio audience. Includes the original letter. Someone wrote "Collectors letter save" on the back of the envelope. The letter itself is clean. Walter Damrosch (1862-1950) was born in Prussia and emigrated with his parents to the US in 1871. He was the conducted of the New York Symphony Orchestra from 1885-1928. From 1928 to 1942, he hosted a Music Appreciation Hour on the radio which was a popular lecture on classical music primarily aimed at students. Item #2548
