Schröder studied medicine at Rostock, Copenhagen and other Universities. He also held the position of surgeon at the Swedish army under Field Marshal Horn and was the first person to identify arsenic as an element. First edition of the Pharmacopeia appeared at Ulm 1641. See Ferguson p344. Not in Ebert or Graesse. Scattered foxing throughout. Partly stained along the upper margin from page 699. Small old paper repairs on p273-285 not affecting legibility of the text, but with some browning from the offsetting. Old repair with binders tape to the front hinge. Covers partly stained.
