Both boards detached. Contents: Giibbon's Autobiography, which first appeared here; correspondence with preeminent men and women of his time, both French and English abstracts of his readings, observations on different subjects; outlines of the history of the world; an essay on the study of literature, etc. Contemporary notation on the inside frontispiece in volume I in brown ink.
