Philadelphia: Matlack & Harvey, 1885. x, 392p. 19th century quarter morocco over marbled boards with marbled end papers and a richly gilt spine. Limited to 300 numbered copies, whereof this is #180. From the Library of the Philadelphia book collector and bibliophile Clarence H. Clark with bookplate in volume 1. Its recorded as #452 on p55 in the Clarence H Clark's Auction Sale at Freeman's in 1909. At that time, complete in two volumes. But volume 2 is unfortunately missing. A slightly later bookplate of William H. Bradbury as well. Still very much the standard work on printing in Pennsylvania. Nicely bound with just some light general wear to the extremities.
