Hazen in his bibliography of Horace Walpole p8 writes "Walpole's work is of major importance to all who are in any way concerned wit the political, social, or artistic history of the eighteenth century". From the Library of Henry Cabot Lodge (1850-1924) with bookplate. Lodge was an American politician, historian, lawyer, and statesman from Massachusetts. The bookplate was engraved by Tiffany & Co with their stamp in the lower margin. A fresh clean set with minor rubbing/wear along the extremities.
