Henry Pollexfen (1632-1691) "was a lawyer of extensive practice and seems to have been engaged in most of the important cases in the later part of the reign of Charles II, and in that of James II. he was one of counsel of the Seven Bishops and inveighed manfully against the King's dispensing Power". Wallace p346-347. Errors in the pagination, but complete. Small hole affecting the first five leaves, including the title page, faint water staining to preliminary leaves otherwise a fresh clean copy. An interesting notation at the top margin on the title page stating when the book was purchased May 12th 1739 with a contemporary signature of W. Wallor. Lowndes p1907. Item #10429
