A handwritten document measuring 7.5" x 6.2". A receipt for a uniform and related clothing purchased from Elijah Hubbard (1745-1808) a lawyer and merchant in New London and Middletown, Connecticut. Signed by Samuel Holden Parsons (1737-1789) Colonel in the Lexington Alarm, April 1775, Colonel 6th Conn May 1st to December 10th, 1775, Colonel 10th Continental Infantry, January 1st 1776, Brigadier-General Continental Army August 9th 1776, Major General, October 23rd 1780. He retired on July 22nd 1782 and drowned November 17th 1789. Some slight foxing otherwise a clean document. A partial watermark is visible. Item #10379
