Revolutionary War payment certificate April 1775 (signed by Thomas Seymour & Oliver Ellsworth)
Document measuring 8.27" x 6.5". Revolutionary war payment signed by Thomas Seymour (1735-1829), head of the Committee of Pay Tables. He also marched as Lieut. Colonel of the 1st Regiment of Horse in command of three regiments of light horse to aid the Continental Army in New York in 1776. Additional signature of Oliver Ellsworth (1745-1807). Ellsworth was a framer of the Constitution, senator from Connecticut, and later the third chief Justice of the United States. A partial watermark visible showing the paper came from Holland. Two light horizontal crease marks otherwise a clean document. Item #10325
