Handwritten invoice Dated 1770. John Boyd to owners of Brigg "Charlotte" (slave trader)

Handwritten document measuring 6.25" x 7.75" listing fund advancement for the Brigg Charlotte having discharged 24 July 1770. The list of names includes William Cairnes, Sam Gurring, Samuel Walker, John Eckstein and William Christopher. The ship was owned by Aaron Lopez (1730-1782) an immigrant from Portugal of Jewish descent. The Brigg Charlotte was one of many ships in the slave trade and Aaron Lopez invested in fourteen slaving voyages to the Guinea between 1756 and 1774.
