Based on Isaac Holmes account derived from actual observations after a residence of four years in the Republic. Nicely bound by James Condie, Paisley with his binder's ticket attached to the inside front board. From the Library of Alexander Speirs of Elderslie (1714 - 1782) with his bookplate on the inside front board. Speirs was the son of an merchant from Edinburgh who was a plantation owner in Virginia. He returned to Scotland in 1740 to become a leading tobacco merchant. Complete with the hand colored map, illustration on p400 and foldout tables.
