Alexander Hill Everett (1792-1847) was an American politician, diplomat and a Boston man of letters. after having graduated from Harvard in 1806, he served as Secretary to President John Quincy Adams and traveled with him to Russia in 1809-1811. His career as a diplomat lead to posts in the Netherlands, Cuba, Spain and China. Front wrapper detached and back strip a little chipped. Pencil marks on the title page otherwise internally clean.
