John Lightfoot (1602-1675) was an English churchman and rabbinical scholar as well as Vice-Chancellor of University of Cambridge. Lowndes' p1859 remarks that "the writings of Dr. Lightfoot are an invaluable treasure for the biblical student". Inner hinges cracked, but holding. Small piece missing from the foot of the spine. Vertical crease mark along the spine due to having laid open and flat against a table. Scattered foxing. Item #10204
