Complete with two frontispieces and nine plates in addition to tables and charts. Sir John Sinclair (1754-1835) was a Scottish politician, military officer and writer. Lowndes Volume V. p2404. This copy made its way to Sweden. It belonged to the Swedish politician and businessman Carl Fredrik Waern (1819-1899) with signature and ownership stamp. Waern represented Sweden at the Great London Exposition in 1862. This could presumably be the time when he purchased the book. See Carlander VI p43-44. Light rubbing to the boards as a result of use.
