He was one of the first Congregational ministers to denounce slavery. He raised money to purchase freedom for slaves in his neighborhood. Faint small blindstamp, light scattered spotting. The printer, Solomon Southwick was a prominent Patriot during the American Revolution. He printed some of the first copies of the Declaration of Independence after its adoption in 1776. Item #10044
