The issue covers the months January through April of 1724 and includes numerous interesting literary and bibliographical reviews. This volume forms a part of the 12mo edition of the Journal published between 1665-1782 in altogether 381 volumes. It was published simultaneously as the 4to edition which appeared in 111 volumes during the same time period. However, the 12mo edition contains mainly extracts from the 4to edition. Graesse p487-488: "'A partir de l'anne 1724-1790 le journal des Savants a ete aussi impr. a Paris, de format pet. in 12. et a raison d'un vol par mois". Front board detached. Headband rubbed.
