Misnumbered on the spine by the binder, with volume 1 labeled 2, and Volume 2 labeled as 1. This is an early edition printed only six years after the first 1768. Contemporary owners gift inscription by the John Foote Esq 1774. From the Library of Desmond Coke (1879-1931), author of The Art of Silhouette and Confessions of an Incurable Collector, with his bookplate on the inside front blank. His collection was sold by Sotheby's July 22nd, 1931. Very light rubbing to the headband. A fine copy. Lowndes p2509, does not list this edition printed by T. Becket, but does include the 1778.
