Numerous contemporary marginal annotations in pencil throughout the first part of the book. Gustav Fluegel (1802-1870) was a German orientalist. This edition of the Koran was first published in 1834. From the Library of Charlotte Comstock Gray (1842-1937) with her elaborate manuscript ex libris on the inside front blank. She entered the University of Chicago in 1898 and received an M.A. from the Department of Church History with a thesis titled "Visions of Saint Theresa" on January 21, 1900.Some light rubbing along the hinges and tips as well as the foot of the spine.
