Leo Allatius (1586-1669) was a Greek Scholar, theologian and keeper of the Vatican Library.This is a bibliography of works by authors residing in Rome between 1630 and 1632. It was first printed in 1633 and it is the first book to contain a bibliographical reference to Galileo. [Carli-Favaro 134]. This edition though was edited by the prolific scholar and bibliographer Johan Albert Fabricius (1668-1736). Also includes a reprint of Giovanni Imperiali's Museum Historicum, first printed in Venice 1640. From the Library of the Dutch legal scholar Meinard Tydeman (1741-1825) with his signature on the front blank and with a few annotations. Also from the Signet Library with bookplate on the inside front board. Binding a little dust soiled and inside front fold of vellum slightly separated. A worm hole starting at the lower inner margin at signature P and progressing to the end. A few letters are affected. Otherwise a very nice copy of an interesting and scarce work. Very Good.
