London/Paris: Martin Bossange, 1824. Original Wraps. 168p, 12p. Contemporary publishers wrappers with an untrimmed foredge. A small cut in the front wrapper which penetrates the first two additional leaves, but without any loss of text. Upper portion of the front wrapper is detached from the spine. The last 12 pages includes a listing of books sold by the publisher. There is a rather interesting commentary in the The London Literary Gazette and journal of belles lettres: "it is not, however, a Conte to please us either by its originality or interest. Even the French text is badly printed. The necessary errata would fill many pages. We advise the Messrs Bossange to burn the impression". Well, it seems Messrs Bossange thought otherwise as this copy survived. Good. Item #003301
