A Handwritten Letter Dated 22nd Brumaire Year 4, (November 13th, 1795)

No Binding. A handwritten letter in French followed by lengthy contemporary commentaries by a different hand. All written on four sides of a folded folio leaf. The letter is written by somebody at the Ministry of Justice and is a response to legal interpretations of the criminal code. The signature is unclear and certain sentences are crossed out by a contemporary hand, but still clear. A fresh clean document with the monogram of the Republic on the top of the front page.
