A Handwritten Letter in French Dated 4 Vendemiaire

A handwritten letter in French asking the Lieutenant Carpentier of the 9th Regiment of the Guards at Bruxelles is requesting a new Sabre and a pistol as a replacement for the ones taken from him when he was a prisoner. The Request is granted by the commissioner in charge of artillery and engineering and Approved by the Committee of Public Safety with signatures that are unclear. Written on rather thin paper and chipped along the edges with a few letters missing. Some light browning to the paper. Good. Item #003187
