A Handwritten Letter from General Laveaux (1751-1828)

No Binding. A handwritten letter dated Paris 1797 from the former governor of St.Dominique, General Laveaux. It is addressed to the Minister of the Navy and Colony with inquiry to find out the status the father of a young woman. General Laveaux is asking for favor as the she is 'far from her family and she has spent her poor means to undertake such a long journey. She can no longer stay in Paris because she has no money and General is asking the Navy to hasten her return to her family. A fresh clean letter written on a folio size page and folded in half with some slight browning to the edges. Very Good. Item #003177
