A Handwritten letter in French Dated April 10th, 1793
No Binding. A handwritten letter in French addressed by the Secretary of State to the Citizen Mayor and officer of the town of Compiegne. He acknowledges receipt of a letter that included a report of the court sessions dated March 20th and 30th of March regarding the actions taken to ensure public peace. He also thanks the officer of the town of Compiegne for his quick actions to foil and discover their somber and criminal activities. It is important to note that a year later, sixteen nuns from the Carmelite order in Compiègne were brutally executed in Paris by the regime. Aside for some light marginal browning, a fresh clean document written in clear script. Very Good. Item #003175
