A Letter in French Dated Oct 1797 from Edward Church, Ex. Consul of the USA in Portugal

1797. No Binding. The letter is written in French by the ex consul now residing in Paris and is addressed to the Commission for the Exchange of Prisoners. He first acknowledges receipt of their letter regarding ex Chancellor LeFargue. He then continues by stating that this true friend of the Republic will arrange to have the prisoners captured by the English and sent to Portugal released and brought back to France. A fresh clean letter written on a large octavo size page. Letters from Edward Church are rather scarce. He was last heard from in 1800. Very Good. Item #003174
