Kraus Reference Library with shelfmark on the inside front blank. Besterman p912. Edouard Rahir was a bookseller in Paris. The firm was founded in 1875 as Damsacene Morgand et Charles Fatout. After Fatout's death in 1882, the firm changed name to Damascene Morgand. By 1889 it became known as Damascene Morgand (Edouard Rahir et cie, successeur). The business ceased to operate in 1944. This particular work was published as a bibliographical reference source for book collectors in terms of desired items on the market. It also includes a brief section on provenances and illustrations of bookplates and cote of arms, as well as modern illustrated books. Internally a fresh clean copy with a noted provenance.
